a social movement.
Onze events draaien in de eerste plaats om beleven, verbinden en voelen. Wij doen niet aan copy paste, maar creëren ervaringen op maat. En dat sinds 2013.
Naast plezier maken willen we méér teweeg brengen. Meer dan een decennium Upside Down (voorheen: LouisLou) staat gelijk aan 10+ jaar actief werk rond waarden zoals inclusiviteit, duurzaamheid en appreciatie voor Afrikaans-Amerikaanse jazzcultuur. Als sociale beweging verspreiden we onze ervaring en kennis al spelenderwijs. Op een toegankelijke en leuke manier dagen we je uit om te participeren.

As community builders, we grow and nourish others in a flourishing community. We support an ecosystem of dancers, musicians, artists and organizers. We also advise and assist other organizations and companies outside of the swing community.
Each year, we free up a budget to support 3 organizations with a social or sustainable purpose for free. This means that, as a client, you co-invest in a better world.

Upside Down has a passion for jazz & swing. In everything we do, we draw from the African-American music and dance culture. In jazz, you create experiences in which community, co-creation and personal expression are balanced.
Black Americans developed swing dance styles such as Lindy Hop, Charleston, Breakaway, Shag ... and (rhythm &) blues during the first half of the 20th century. As guests in another culture, Upside Down approaches this rich cultural heritage with recognition and respect, and we ask participants to do the same.

We verwelkomen heel wat dansers en muzikanten uit het buitenland op onze evenementen.
In partnership with the European project Swinging Europe Network (2022 – 2025), organiseerden we activiteiten zoals learning networks en een conferentie, en rolden we een EU-brede sustainability strategy uit.
